Canelo vs GGG 2: The Rematch We’ve All Been Waiting For!!!
By Mr. Shawn B September 13, 2018
Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin, volume 2. The rematch that we have all been waiting for, is finally here. Saturday, at T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, it’s on! Last year Canelo and GGG (Gennady Golovkin) , put on one of the best fights of the year. Canelo landed monster hits on GGG. Glovokin just stood there taking them, like a brick wall. Nothing that GGG did worked either. Canelo wasn’t going to let Golovkin drop him. He proved that he had an iron chin as well. He took ever shot that GGG handed out. In the end, the best fight of the 2017, ended in a draw. 12 rounds of violence, and there was no winner to claim the championship belt. Until now.
Canelo Alvarez is beast in the boxing ring. The red-headed Mexican fighter, is the pride of Guadalajara, Jalisco. The prize fighter of Golden Boy Productions, is about to fight in the 53rd match of his career. 49-1-2 is his record. 34 of those 49 wins are by way of knockout. His only actual loss, was to Floyd Mayweather. But of course, everyone lost against Floyd Mayweather. The only other fighter who’s had a chance to beat Canelo, is Gennady Golovkin. The rematch that is set for this Saturday, was originally set for Cinco De Mayo 2018. Early this year, Canelo tested positive twice for a banned substance. The big fight was eventually cancelled. He claimed that the substance “clenbuterol” that he tested positive for, came from tainted cow meat in Mexico. He overly explained to the media, that he was not using performance enhancing drugs. A lot of boxing fans speculated that Canelo might have been taking a substance to make him stronger, for his fight against GGG.
Gennady Golovkin was pissed. He had been training hard for the fight. All his work for a fight that was suddenly cancelled. No fight means no money. Millions of dollars lost, until now. Gennady Glovokin is monster as well. In his 39 professional fights, he’s won 38 of them! 34 of them were knockouts. No losses. 1 draw. The one draw was against Canelo. In most of Golovkin’s fights, his opponents don’t even make it to the 10th round. But with GGG being 38 years old, waiting a whole year to fight, might turn out to be a bad thing for him. Even though his body hasn’t taken any blows in the past year, he’s one year older. Which means he’s one year slower. Fighting sooner, rather than later would have been ideal for Golovkin. Canelo is still young and in his prime. It might serve as an advantage for Canelo. GGG believes Canelo is a cheater, a snake, and a coward. That he has been stalling on fighting him. Gennady Golovkin will be extremely prepared for the fight on Saturday night.
For the expensive price 84.99, you can see the most anticipated fight of the year. I’ve always said, there is nothing like fight night in Vegas, and this is no different. Find a local sports bar in your area, and check this fight out. You will not be disappointed. These two fighters hate each other, and you will see it in the ring Saturday night. My prediction, Canelo wins by unanimous decision. I think he is younger, faster and hungrier. He will prove he is the better fighter. Gennady Golovkin (GGG) might not let that happen though. I guess we are all going to have to find out this weekend what these two are made of. Viva Las Vegas!!!
