Khabib WINS and Starts a WAR at UFC 229!!!
By Mr. Shawn B October 8, 2018
Khabib Nurmagomedov made a name for himself Saturday in Las Vegas. Not only for what he did in the octagon, but more for what he did once he hopped out of it. For all those who were able to go to UFC 229 at T-Mobile Arena, you got to see something you’ve probably never seen before in sports. A humbled Conor McGregor. As a matter a fact, Conor received the biggest ass kicking of his life. McGregor is one of the flashiest, outspoken, and obnoxious sports figures in the world. He takes pride in his trash talking, and he might be one of the best to ever do it. The problem with Conor, is that he takes his trash talking a little too far. Not everyone is going to let you talk shit about them in that way. Khabib is not one of those people who allow bullshit.
If you don’t remember how this feud started, I’ll tell you. April 5, 2018. Barclay Center. Brooklyn, New York. UFC 223. Khabib Nurmagomedov was scheduled to fight. Conor was not, but was in New York to attend the fights. According to mmaimports.com, newly crowned UFC lighweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had a physical altercation with SBG Ireland’s Artem Lobov in a hotel ahead of UFC 223. After Nurmagomedov reportedly slapped McGregor’s friend and teammate in the altercation, “Notorious” (Conor McGregor) decided to retaliate by bringing a large entourage with him backstage of the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York on April 5 to confront Nurmagomedov.
We all know what happened that night. Big Bad Conor McGregor decided to flex his power, by bringing his boys up to the arena, to make a statement. As Khabib, and a bunch of other fighters waited on their bus, Conor and his crew decided trashed the bus. Breaking windows and damaging the buses frame. During the Malay, a few fighters were injured, including Khabib’s opponent that day. Khabib wasn’t injured, but because his opponent was, he wasn’t able to fight that night. No fight equals no money for Khabib. At least not for that fight. Dana White saw this as an opportunity. He decided to set them up for a fight in the Octagon. This would later be proven to be all bad for Conor McGregor.
Fast forward to Saturday night. It was clear that Khabib was still holding a grudge. Everything Conor had said and done to him was brought out in the way Khabib was fighting. He was aggressive and determined. He beat McGregor so bad, that it looked easy. In the second round, Khabib delivered a shot that almost knocked Conor completely out. In the 4th round, Khabib ended the fight with a choke hold that Conor was unable to get out of. It looked like Khabib was trying to squeeze the life out of him. Conor unwillingly tapped out, in order to keep from dying. He just couldn’t stand the punishment anymore. The undefeated champ at 26 and 0, got the most prideful win of his career.
Khabib wasn’t done fighting. TMZ.com reported that McGregor’s teammate Dillion Danis, called Khabib Nurmagomedov a “f*cking Muslim rat” during the main event at UFC 229. This set Khabib off even more. As soon as he was done embarrassing Conor, he decided to do the unthinkable. Khabib jumped out of the octagon, in to the crowd, and attacked McGregor’s teammate. A huge brawl broke out, as Khabib and McGregor’s camp started fighting. Where was McGregor you ask? He was still in the octagon, fighting members of Khabib’s camp! That’s right, members of Khabib’s camp jumped into the octagon and started fighting Conor McGregor! The police had to step in separate everyone. 3 members of Khabib’s camp were arrested.
One of the most exciting fights of all time, came to a chaotic ending. Of course, Dana White made it seem like the aftermath to the fight was a tragedy for UFC, but it wasn’t. They are going to spend this around and make all type of money from it. The rematch will generate millions and everyone will profit in a big way. They may have gained fans, just from the excitement. For now, we all were able to see one of the biggest trash talkers in sports, be humbled. Bad things happen when you talk about others families and religion. Respect is required. ALWAYS!!! Remember that Conor…
