Las Vegas: The New Mecca of Sports.
“Las Vegas in affect baby!” That line came straight from the movie “Bebe’s Kids”. Yes, I know that movie is old as hell, and it has nothing to do with sports. But as I watched that movie the other day, that line stuck with me for the simple fact that that quote is the truth! Las Vegas is in full affect. Sin City is the entertainment capital of the world, but it is quickly becoming a sports fan’s dream.
Summertime in Las Vegas is basically an Adult’s amusement park. Pool parties, clubs, All the shows you can think of, great food, amazing drinks and an atmosphere like no other. Oh yeah, did I mention gambling… This is what Las Vegas is built on. Making you feel like for 3 or 4 days, you are king or queen of the world and everything is at your disposal. For an expensive price that is. For the most part, Las Vegas has been an outlet for sports betters to place wages on sports events all over the world. Slowly but surely, Las Vegas is turning into a sports team’s location destination.
It all started with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The expansion team that took the NHL by storm. In their first year, they made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Despite not winning, the team gained a huge following, and has now opened the doors for other sports franchise to want to be a part of all Las Vegas has to offer.
In one of my previous stories, I told you there is nothing like fight night in Vegas! It’s the biggest event in the city by far, but now there might be some competition. Not only did the NHL make the big jump to Vegas, so did the NFL. My Oakland Raiders, decided it was time to join the new era, and make the move to Las Vegas. With the NFL being the most bet on sport in the world, and a promise of a brand new state of the art, indoor luxury stadium, the Raiders felt it was essential to move the team ASAP. By 2020, Football will be the #1 attraction on Sundays in Las Vegas.
On July 29th, 2018 the NBA and the MGM Resorts franchise made a big move. Reports from Bleacher Report says NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced a multiyear agreement that will make MGM Resorts the official gaming partner of the NBA and the WNBA: “As the landscape for sports betting in the U.S. continues to evolve at a rapid pace, MGM Resorts is a proven gaming leader for us to work with on this groundbreaking partnership.”
The NBA summer league in Las Vegas this year, was electric. All 30 teams participated and it was a huge success. People came from all over to see their teams take part in it, as well as some big name stars. With the emergence of legalized gambling, and the upswing with sports in Las Vegas, it was only suiting for the NBA to take part in the cities growth. But Does this mean there will be an NBA team hear in the near future? Personally I believe so. The ground is laid out, and I think the plan is in play. Now it’s only a matter of when…
Bet the house on Vegas to win BIG with Sports Franchises!!!
