Madden 21 has just released their player ratings for their upcoming video game. Every year, player wait to see what their ratings will be, to see what the fans think of their ability. Ratings are determined by how well a player plays in the season prior to the game coming out. The “99 Club” was created for the top players of the game. Only the elite, of the elite at their positions may enter. Even Lamar Jackson, who was the MVP of the season last year, and who is on the cover of Madden 21, did not make the “99 Club.” So what players made it?

Patrick Mahomes: The BEST QUARTERBACK in the NFL hands down. Coming off last season, where he led the Kansas City Chiefs to the a Super Bowl win, Patrick signed a 10-year 503 million dollar contract. Which he deserves. In his 2 years as a starter, he has totaled 9,412 yards, 76 touchdowns, to only 18 interceptions. He has a quarterback rating of 108.9, which is exceptional for an average. He’s a 2x Pro bowl player, League MVP, Super bowl MVP, highest paid athlete of all time, and everything you would want out of franchise quarterback. Even as a Raider fan, I can’t help but to get excited watching Mahomes play. Putting him in the “99 Club” was the easiest thing EA Sports had to do, when they made Madden 21.

Aaron Donald: B-E-A-S-T. One of the strongest players to ever play in the National Football League. He is a quarterbacks nightmare. The Defensive Tackle for the Los Angeles Rams has proven in his 6 year career that he is the best pass rusher, maybe of all time. With the exception of Lawrence Taylor, of course. Donald’s career stats are amazing. He has 72 sacks with 92 assists on the quarterback. In 2018, he had 20.5 sacks alone! Another no brainier for Madden 21. Aaron Donald makes the “99 Club” for the fourth time in a row.

Christian McCaffrey: Not your average “white running back.” He’s not average in anyway. Christian McCaffey might be the most special player the NFL has every seen. Then things he does in the ruining game, as well as the passing game are unusually special. Last season, he recored 1387 yards from scrimmage, with 15 touchdowns. He also had 1005 yards through the air, with 4 touchdowns. If you play fantasy football, you know all about Christian McCaffrey. HE IS UNSTOPPABLE! His second year in the “99 Club”, McCaffrey was an easy choice.

Stephon Gilmore: LOCK DOWN DEFENDER. As the #1 defender, on the best secondary in all of football last year, Stephon lead the Patriots to a 12-4 regular season mark.Through the 1st half of the season, teams weren’t even scoring on them. Stephon Gilmore lead the team in interceptions with 6, and 2 returns for touchdowns. Those numbers seem great when looking at them, but you have to take in account how many times other teams threw towards his direction. And the answer is barely every. Even though I believe Jalen Ramsey is a better defensive end them him, Stephon had the better year last year.

Michael Thomas: His instagram name is @cantguardmike for a reason. He averaged 11.6 yards per catch for the New Orleans Saints. In the leagues #1 offense, Mike racked up 1,725 yards, with 9 touchdowns. Every pass Drew Brees threw his way, he caught. Hands like glue. Defenses had no answers for him. No one last year could guard Michael Thomas. He more than earned his “99 Club” spot.
