NFL Wild Card weekend is upon us, and despite a few issues with COVID, it looks like everything is a full go. Back in September, I was extremely skeptical that the NFL would complete the full season. COVID is still very much a problem in the world, but somehow, someway, the NFL kept moving right through it. A lot of games were postponed, or moved back, and some players and coaches had to miss games, but all 256 games were completed as promised. So now its time for the playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers won’t play this weekend, because they both received top-seed in their conference. 12 other teams will face-off this Saturday and Sunday, for what seems like a hella wild, Wild Card weekend. Here are our #HELLAFLAGRANT NFL Picks for the beginning of the playoffs.
Indianapolis Colts vs Buffalo Bills: The first game of the weekend, is an interesting one. Josh Allen and the Bills have been on fire this season. Coming into the game as the #2 seed, Buffalo will finally be able to host a playoff game in…. well hella years. Usually a team known for its defense, this season they have been red hot on offense. Stefon Diggs has been the perfect receiver for Josh Allen this year. They both have played lights out and look to continue that on Saturday. The only thing standing in their way is the Colts defense. The Colts have transferred themselves into a ground and pound team. They will look to run the ball, and keep the score close by playing keep away from Josh Allen. With a high total of 51.5, I think the look here is the UNDER. I don’t see this game as a shoot out, but more of a chess match. Which hard nose coach will blink first. Although, I think the Bills will win outright, I’m taking UNDER 51.5 as my pick.
Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks: A matchup between divisional rivals. Look, I can go back and forth with these teams. They go back and forth through the year. Russell Wilson was playing like an MVP for the first half of the year, and then something changed. DJ Metcalf was looking like the next great receiver, and then he hit a wall. On the Rams side, they have had problems staying healthy. Right now, we don’t know if Jarod Goff will play or not. And he’s their quarterback! That being said, I still like the Rams here. Seattle’s defense is not very good, and Jamal Adams might not even play. Both these teams play so many times per year, they know how to defend each other. I’m going to go with the team with the better defense. I’m taking the the Rams +4.5as my pick.
Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans: A rematch of last year’s Divisional game that had everyone stunned. In the 2019 playoffs, the Ravens were the team to beat. Lamar Jackson had won the MVP and it seemed like it was destined for Baltimore vs Kansas City to meet in the conference finals. The Titans had other plans. Tennessee kicked Baltimore’s ass in that game, and doubts if Lamar Jackson was as good as he was projected to be. The rematch happens this Sunday in Tennessee. Ima keep this short and sweet. The Ravens are going to blitz Tennessee. As good as the Titans have been this year, they play NO DEFENSE. Lamar has struggled this year, but in the Last 6 games of the season he has turned things around. I think this game will be very high scoring, but I like Baltimore -3.5 as my pick. You can also play the OVER 54.5 also if you like.
