Super Bowl Sunday is finally almost here! The biggest day in sports takes place in Atlanta this year, and the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots have arrived for their business trip. For the Patriots, this will be their 9th time in 18 years that they will be at another Super Bowl. For the Rams, this is their first Super Bowl appearance since the greatest show on turf. The Rams were preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Patriots, all though their season wasn’t as great as in previous years, are back in the Super Bowl due to a late season surge. So what does that mean for this Super Bowl? Will the 41-year-old Tom Brady be able to get it done this time? Will history be made for the New England Patriots? Or will the new look Rams, led by Sean McVay, be able to out duel the legendary coach and quarterback of New England? Here’s what I think will go down in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday Feb 3, 2019.
Los Angeles Rams vs New England Patriots: The experience favors the Patriots. The fact that they have been in this situation 9 times speaks for it self. Tom Brady is the greatest player of all time, and Bill Belichick is probably the greatest coach in NFL history. But I’m going to make a case for the Los Angeles Rams. I’m definitely going out on a limb with this pick, but I have a feeling that this might not be and easy game for the Patriots. Despite Tom Brady being a legend, this might be the worst team he’s every been apart of. The running game is good, but their overall offense has not been. Their Defense has been less than average this year, and if I’m not mistaken, you need to play defense to win the game. I do have reservations about the Rams, Jared Goff and, the injury to Todd Gurley. Jared has looked good throwing the ball in some game, and less than stellar in others. What Jared Goff are we going to get. Gurely has been injured for the last few weeks leading into the playoffs. I don’t know if that will affect his performance in the Super Bowl, after having a week off, but it is something to consider.
I’m banking on the Rams’ defense to give them a chance to win the Super Bowl. Aaron Donald, Ndamukong Suh, and those big boys up front that can get to Tom Brady. Can they put enough pressure on him and the Patriots to turn the ball over enough times. I think the Rams defensive coordinator (Wade Phillips), who has faced Brady numerous times, will be able to scheme up a plan to frustrate the 41 year-old-quarterback. Once again I’m going out on a limb with this one, but I just have a good feeling about this one. Take the Los Angeles Rams +3.5 and the UNDER 57.5.
Now if you want to take a few prop bets, here are a few that I think that could pay off.
Aaron Donald to win MVP: 20/1. First Half UNDER 27.5 points. Will Phillip Dorsett score a touchdown: Yes +255. Will there be a defensive/special teams touchdown? Yes +190
Enjoy the Super Bowl everyone!!! The Flagrant Foul will be in Atlanta, so come see us if your there.
